Frentz & Sons Hardware, A Royal Oak Fixture for 93 Years, Is Putting Building and Property Up For Sale

Frentz & Sons Hardware, a family-owned, four-generation business in Royal Oak for 93 years, is putting the building and property up for sale.

The store at 1010 N. Main St., made the announcement on Facebook:   

"With full hearts and sincere gratitude, we want to share some news directly with you. After more than 90 years in business and four generations of family serving you, we have decided to place our building and property up for sale.

"This decision was not made lightly. While the reasons are personal, we can share that changing economic realities, rising costs, and the challenges of running a small business in today’s environment factored into this decision.  At the same time, the three of us are now in our retirement years and are looking ahead to the next stage of our lives.

"We don’t yet know precisely what the future will hold. Still, we want you to know that as long as we can, we’ll be here to help with your hardware needs—with the same care, knowledge, and service you’ve always counted on."
