The H&M retail shop at 1505 Woodward in downtown Detroit has become the first H&M to unionize in Michigan, Crain's Detroit Business reports. The store has 14 workers, including three seasonal employees.
H&M has 14 stores in Michigan, eight of which are in Metro Detroit.
Employees voted last week to join United Food and Commercial Workers Local 876.
The vote is the latest in an ongoing nationwide campaign by the union to organize H&M stores.
