President Donald Trump, a longtime Yankees fan, will visit the Bronx on Thursday night to watch the Detroit Tigers take on his hometown team in honor of 9/11.

Trump will be watching the 7:05 p.m. game from the Steinbrenner family’s box — the owners of the Yankees — according to the New York Post.

The Tigers have won the first two games of the series.

The New York Post also reports that Trump could meet with Mayor Eric Adams at the stadium.

It’s unclear what role, if any, Trump will play during the evening, or whether his presence will be announced to the fans.

If it is, he’s likely to hear some boos from the Bronx crowd. He recently was met with boos at the U.S. Open and outside a local D.C. restaurant.

The Yankees (80–65) are tied for second place in the American League East, three games behind Toronto. Detroit (84–62) is 9.5 games ahead of the second-place Cleveland Guardians.
