Charlie Kirk, Tyler Robinson
Tyler Robinson, the suspected killer of conservative pundit Charlie Kirk, was a lone wolf. He wasn’t working with, or on behalf of the Democats or any radical left group. Had he been—and those folks had the chance to vote on whether Robinson should carry out his murderous act—I'm convinced Charlie Kirk would be alive today.
David DePape, the crazed man who attacked Paul Pelosi, Nancy Pelosi’s husband, with a hammer, didn’t represent all Americans who hated Nancy Pelosi—the MAGA supporters, the conservatives who find her appalling.
And Vance Boelter, who is suspected of killing former Minnesota Democratic House Speaker Melissa Hortman and her husband, Mark Hortman, and of shooting and wounding Democratic State Senator John Hoffman and his wife, Yvette, was a lone wolf as well. He wasn’t carrying out those violent acts on behalf of President Trump or Vice President J.D. Vance.
I think we can all agree on that.
So, it’s dumbfounding that folks like Trump and Vance are blaming the radical left—trying to gin up more hatred, division, and ultimately, more violence. It’s also worth noting that the "radical left" includes people who oppose Trump’s agenda, who are pro-choice, in favor of gay marriage and due process of the law, or concerned about climate change.
Trump has vowed in wake of the Kirk murder that his administration will find “each and every one of those who contributed to this atrocity… including organizations that fund and support it.” He also said that “radical left political violence has hurt too many innocent people.”
Did he forget about Jan. 6?
Perhaps it would be more fitting if he vowed to go after all the lone wolves in society.

U.S. Senate candidate Mike Rogers
Even Michigan Republican Senate candidate Mike Rogers—who is no fan of Trump but pretends to be for political gain—is promoting the Trump propoganda and suggesting the radical left is to blame. After attending a rally Monday in Lansing to honor Charlie Kirk, Rogers posted a video on X in which he said:
“He has certainly ignited something, not only when he was alive but when they took his death, they reached for an ammo box. These people are going to go to the ballot box to prove their point. They wouldn't burn down buildings and cities and harass cops. Our people came out here for a vigil to offer their spiritual connectedness and their thankfulness that they even got to know Charlie Kirk.”
"Hopefully, the left understands, the more hate that they spew, the more violence they push, they are going to get htis in droves," he said referring to rallies like in Lansing.
Interestingly, Rogers refers to Kirk’s suspected shooter as “they,” when in fact, as a former FBI agent, he knows it was the act of a lone wolf unaffiliated with any political group. No—the left, the liberals, the Democrats, and any other perceived enemies of Trump did not call for Charlie Kirk's death. In fact, Robinson's roommate and partner was shocked by the news of the shooting.
Then again, Mike Rogers might be forgiven for forgetting that he once worked for the FBI and was trained to analyze crimes objectively. After all, Trump demonized the FBI during his 2024 presidential campaign to the point Rogers had to downplay his time at the bureau during his unsuccessful Senate run last year against Elissa Slotkin.
No one can deny that Charlie Kirk was a potent force in the conservative landscape, particularly on college campuses. The outpouring of love and grief makes that clear.
While he had legions of followers, there were certainly others who found some of his comments offensive. Should they be killed? Or imprisoned for voicing opposition?
Absolutely not. I think we can all agree on that. Yes???
It’s hard to describe the feeling in Lansing this evening as we gathered to celebrate the life and legacy of Charlie Kirk — a once in a generation political figure.

The individual responsible for taking Charlie’s life reached for an ammo box. But Charlie’s thousands of friends… pic.twitter.com/VYySRUb3uM
